A young student named Taisuke stands up for his friend, Hirose, who often seems to be picked on. He soon finds out that Hirose has left school, and Megumi has been kidnapped. In order to find his friends, Taisuke sets out on a journey. But he encounters people like him, who have abilities, and the mystery of these people and the virus slowly starts to unfold....

This manga has guns and babies, what more could you ask for?

Things have been exploding, and Nanaki Shunsuke doesn't really know why. Not, that is, till he is approached by Kudoh Ao, who tells Nanaki that the head injury he sustained from the small run-in he had with a car and a bit of pavement about a month ago most likely awakened some sort of latent PSI powers residing within him. But random out-of-control-power-explodings isn't the half of it. Nanaki's powers allow him to speak telepathically to anyone with a matching wavelength. And, much to the annoyance of our dear main characters, their wavelengths match. Since all PSI Nouryokusha are required to register and work for LOCK, the Paranormal Investigations Agency (a government organization that works to solve cases involving supernatural phenomenon), this makes Nanaki a prime candidate for pairing up with the currently partnerless Ao. But the road to a little bit of decent cooperation can be a long one, especially when your new partner thinks you might be part homicidal maniac. |

Black Cat (ブラックキャット) is a manga series by Kentaro Yabuki which was serialized in Shonen Jump Magazine. The series has concluded in Japan at 20 volumes. It is also licensed by VIZ Media, and the English release is planned to begin on March 7, 2006. The Black Cat anime began airing in Japan during October 2005.
The story centers on a man named Train Heartnet who withdrew from an elite group of assassins called the toki no bannin (the Chrono Numbers) to become a Sweeper (a bounty hunter).
Black Cat is a balance between silly humor and serious moments, with an anti-hero cast using somewhat stereotypical evil plot schemes, but the gem of Black Cat is the greater emphasis on character development and interactions than resolution of greater conflict.
